Who should I contact in case of an emergency at a meeting?

Safety is important for our girls. Work with girls and other adults to establish and practice procedures for emergencies related to weather, fire, lost girls/adults and site security. Give an itinerary to a contact person at home; call the contact person upon departure and return. Create a list of girls’ parents/guardian contact information, telephone numbers for emergency services and police, and council contacts—keep on hand or post in an easily accessible location. Always keep handy a well-stocked first-aid kit, girl health histories and contact information for girls’ families. A basic first aider is required for all activities outside the normal meeting place. Check activityspecific Safety Activity Checkpoints to determine if a level 2/Wilderness first aider is needed.
